2018 NL Winter Games

Newfoundland Power was proud to be a Games Sponsor for the 2018 Newfoundland & Labrador Winter Games. The Games were hosted by the Town of Deer Lake on March 10-18, 2018. Up to 1,300 athletes, officials and coaches, plus parents and volunteers were welcomed to the town. These Games showcased everything Deer Lake and surrounding areas had to offer and provided young athletes from across the province an opportunity to shine.

St. John's Christmas Parade

Over 50 of our employees, retirees and family members got into the holiday spirit at the Downtown St. John’s Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 3, 2017. They walked the parade route collecting food and money for the Community Food Sharing Association. Over 16,000 pounds of food, valued at approximately $40,000, and more than $10,000 was collected during this holiday tradition. This overwhelming response will go a long way in keeping food banks full this time of year to help those less fortunate.

Motorcycle Ride For Dad

Motorcycle Ride For Dad

The 12th annual Motorcycle Ride for Dad began from our Kenmount Road parking lot on June 16. It was a tremendous success with approximately 400 motorcycles participating. Over $114,000 was raised from biker pledges and corporate sponsorships. To date, the ride has raised approximately $1.3 million to fight prostate cancer in this province.

Partners For Life

Partners For Life

As one of the founding partners for the Canadian Blood Services' Partners for Life Program in Newfoundland and Labrador, we pledge to donate 250 times annually. To date, our employees and families have made over 3,000 blood donations, and we’re still counting. We continue to support the program by organizing onsite blood donor clinics and promoting mobile clinics across the island.

Coats For Kids

We will once again partner with the VOCM Cares Foundation and community partners to support the VOCM Cares Coats for Kids Campaign. Our area offices will open their doors from September 17 to October 26, 2018, as drop-off locations for the collection of usable coats, hats and mittens that will be used to keep children warm this winter.
