Conservation For Your Business

When electricity demand is greater than available electricity supply, businesses have a big role to play. Therefore, it’s important to understand how you are using electricity and the ways you can conserve, if required.

Here is what you can do:

  1. Reduce heat: turn back you electric thermostats by 3-5°c.
  2. Turn off lighting: turn off outdoor lights not needed for safety or security and switch off lights in rooms that aren’t occupied.
  3. Avoid using unnecessary equipment: Ask everyone to shut down computers, monitors and equipment that aren’t being used, and at the end of the work day.
  4. Stagger equipment start up: Avoid starting large office and other equipment at the same time. Stagger start up by 15-20 minutes.
When taking action to reduce your electricity use, it's important to keep safety and security top of mind.
