Newfoundland Power facilitates the process of raising funds for cancer care in Newfoundland and Labrador. The main objective of our corporate charity, Power of Life, is to assist financially where help is required. We ensure 100% of the proceeds stay in this province and go directly toward supporting cancer care.
We work closely with the Cancer Care Foundation Newfoundland & Labrador to identify where needs exist. The Foundation works directly with cancer treatment facilities and the Provincial Cancer Care Program to prioritize needs and inform us how the funds we raise can have maximum impact.
We make decisions based on our goals of raising funds for cancer in the areas of: much needed cancer treatment equipment; awareness and screening; patient and family support; and, education programs, such as those pertaining to breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate and colorectal cancer.
If a hospital near you treats families who have been affected by cancer, it’s likely we have provided assistance in some way to that facility.
Thanks to the generosity of our customers and employees, Power of Life has been successful in accomplishing a great deal in support of cancer care in Newfoundland and Labrador. Your support has helped change the way cancer care is delivered in this province.
